Ole Miss Alumni Hotel Restaurant

Tuesday, September 29th, 2009

The restaurant on the lower floor of the Ole Miss alumni hotel serves southern soul-food style plate lunches for lunch and offers a dinner menu as well. The restaurant closes at 9:30.

The food at dinner was good but the fried-green tomatoes were soggy and fell apart at the touch. Other than that the meal was good. The fried catfish was great and so were the side items (mac & cheese and turnip greens).

For a fine dining experience it might better to head to the square or the Ravine.

The offer many different takes on common southern dishes like guiness battered catfish, marinated crab claws, oyster pan roast, tender lamb shepards pie, and duck confit. They also offer signature drinks such as: bourbon milk punch, the old fashioned Sazerac, and the Snackbar Pimm’s Cup.
